Chill out Suit(e)

Un projet réalisé à la Cittadellarte, Fondation Pistoletto en 2002 et en collaboration avec le compositeur Joe Cutler (http://www.joecutler.com/)
Après avoir visité le site principal de l’entreprise italienne de textiles, Ermenegildo Zegna. Les artistes proposent d’insérer une “zone autonome”, un espace de détente insonorisé, dédiée aux salariés, dans une entreprise à haute production sonore. Chill out suit(e) est un projet d’abord pensé comme un espace physique mais aussi comme un concert-projection accompagné par l’ensemble Noszferatu. Ce projet questionne la répétition du geste, les conditions de travail et le rapport de l'homme à la machine. Après avoir été jouée plusieurs fois en Italie, cette performance est aujourd'hui présentée comme une oeuvre vidéo.

This project was created during a residency at Cittadellarte, Pistoletto Foundation in 2002. It is the result of a collaboration with composer Joe Cutler (www.joecutler.com)
After a visit at Ermenegildo Zegna's clothing factory, the artists inserted an "autonomous zone", a soundproof break room for the employee, inside of a highly noisy environment. Chill out suit(e) was conceived as a physical space and a projection room. The Noszferatu ensemble was invited to perform in that installation. This project is about the repetition of gestures, the conditions of work and the relation between the human being and the machine. Played several times in Italy, this performance is now presented as a video.
